We the Citizens of Hillsborough County Want a Loyal Police Force
The police (Sheriff, Tampa Police, Temple Terrace Police, Plant City Police) are our servants. They are nothing
more than a delegation of our own right to defend ourselves. We want
our police force to be loyal to the citizens of Hillsborough County,
and in turn we want to be able to give our full support to the police
forces which we have commissioned.
*We believe what the
Declaration of Independence states, that the purpose of any police
force or government is to protect individuals in their natural and
inalienable rights.
*We believe traffic violations should not be
looked on as a source of revenue for the county, rather only to recoup
some expenses involved in keeping our roads safe.
*We believe
citizens have the right to defend themselves from unlawful assaults,
whether that be from a private individual, or from a government
employee, and that such citizens should be judged by a jury of their
peers and not an extra-lawful police fraternity bent on executing their
own judgments.
*We believe citizens have the responsibility to report and make public to the fullest of their ability abuses of their rights.
*We
believe the desire to be safe does not outweigh the necessity of being
free, and that living in a free society involves some risk.
*We
believe traffic cameras are an implementation of Orwellian police state
tactics, and we are willing to bear the cost burden (if any) of having
officers on the the street instead of replacing them with cameras. We
believe the camera system violates the spirit and letter of the Fourth
Amendment to the Constitution of the United States.
*We believe
in the doctrine of Interposition, meaning that it is the duty of the
citizen's police force to interpose themselves between unlawful or
immoral assaults on the rights of citizens or against unconstitutional
encroachments of the federal or state government and not the perverted
doctrine that our police force is bound to enforce mandates from higher
governmental bodies. This includes, as an example, opposing a federal
registry or confiscation of firearms.
*We believe citizens are
bound to protect the police force in the operation of their duties so
long as the citizens are protected in their rights.
